Practical learning material
that encourages students
To encourage students, Genki includes dialogues employing situations they usually encounter, and introduces the most frequently used vocabulary, expressions and grammar. In the Reading and Writing section, Genki presents subjects familiar to students, such as writing letters, postcards or diaries and reading advertisements.

Many enjoyable practice exercises
Genki provides a variety of stimulating exercises for every grammar point studied, including basic practice, exercises with illustrations and pair or group work, as well as role playing, games and other activities. These exercises add interest to what could otherwise be the monotonous repetition of basic skills, and make the class more active and enjoyable.

Understandable and precise
grammar explanations
The grammar explanations of Genki are written in an easy-to-understand manner incorporating many appropriate examples, so that students can go through them on their own. Typical mistakes that students make are highlighted in the explanations and in the footnotes. If students read the explanatory notes before class, more lesson time can be devoted to exercises, rather than grammar explanations.
(*The explanations are written in English.)

Teachers can easily offer
